Accoding to Ayurveda, The Toxins Accumulate with in the body due to the effect of atmosphere weather, improper diet and lifestyle habits. These Toxins are called Ama. These Toxins are two types
- These toxins that enter into the body due to improper food/lifestyle-such as exposure to micro organisms through food, air etc.
- The toxins that our body generate due to seasonal variations, improper diet etc. Such as high fat consumption leading to excessive cholesterol, old age causing wear and tear in joints causing arthritis etc.
Ayurvedic Treatment aims to relieve the body of these toxins by mean of Panchakarma treatments.
Panchakarma means five treatments. These treatments are used to detoxify entire system. They are also strengthening, rejuvenating and resuscitation in nature.
Abhyangam – Abhyanga is a basic Ayuvedic herbal oil massage that improves blood circulation eliminates toxins and boost immunity,leaving the recipient feeling revitalized. The medicated herbal oil used is chosen according to the specific constitution of the recipient.Long and gliding hand motion are used while massaging and the treatment incorporates stimulation of marm points(the Ayurvedic equivalent of acupressure points).Abhyangam massage not only leaves the skin supple,soft and smooth,it also enhances mental alterness,calms nerves and tones muscles.
Swedhanam- Swedhanam is a herbal steam bath treatment. In this herbal leaves and herbs are boiled and the medicated vapours are passed to the steam chamber. it is the unique Ayurveda therapy for revitalizing and nourishing the skin. Steam bath helps perspiration of the body. Resulting the skin to eliminate toxins through the pores helps in reducing the excessive adipose tissue and improves blood and lymphatic circulation.
Shirodhara- Shirodhara treatment is a classic Ayurvedic therapy that includes pouring of liquid medicines on the forehead in continuous stream. It is very effective in promoting sound sleep. It stimulates and soothes the hypothalamus thereby regulating the functions of the pituitary gland and including sleep. Shirodhara stimulates Marma’s or Vital Pointsin the head and improves circulation. There are specialized form of Shirodhara called ksheeradhara, thakradhara and tail dhara.
Shirobasti: In Stirobasti process, along leather cap, open at the top is fitted around the patient head. Through the top opening.medicated oil at a modetate temperature is poured on to the head. The oil is retained for a specific period.
The procedure is highly useful In Trigiminal neuralgia, Hemicrania, Optic atrophy, Deafness, Facial paralysis and all disorders affecting cranial nerves.
Pizhichil: Pizhichil is a treatment procedure in which the herbal oils and herbal ghee are poured over the body of the patient in monitored streams for a fixed duration of time. it is highly beneficial in tackling Vata sorders like neuromuscular and musculoskeletal disorders.
Navarakizhi : Navarakizhi is a treatment in which a special type of rite called Shashtika Shall prepared in milk processed wilh herbal decoction is tied in boluses and used for rubbing on the body parts which are intended to recelve nutrition and strength. Shashtika Shall Pinda Sweda is used mainly to provide strength and rejuvenate the tissues and also to provide relief from pain, inflammation, and stitiness associated with bone, joint, neuromuscular and or musculoskeletal pains.
Udvartanum : This is a herbal powder massage done ina scientific way all aver the body of to specific organs . it is useful mainly in obesity, diabetes, skin problems. Opens up the blocked channels, blood vessels and transport systems of the body and enables free circulation of nutrients and essentials in the body Provides good shine and complexion.
Elakizhi : Elakizhi is a Patra Potli massage.ltis a process in ‘which herbal leaves are tied in a cloth bag. This bag is dipped into hot medicated oil and then applied all over the body. Hrelieves body pain, stiff joints, back aches. Highly advisable inarthrtis & spinal problems.
Nasya : Nasal treatment refers to an Ayurvedic therapy that includes instillation of herbal oils, juices or powders through the nasal route, Nose is considered as the gateway for the head, spreading through this, the nasal medication reaches all the parts of the head and neck and cures the diseases of respective region.
Katibasti : Katibasti nourishes and strengthens the spinal nerves and helps subsiding tha disorders related to back i.e lower back pain, lumbar spondylosis, disc prolapse etc.
Netratarpan : Ayurvedic Treatment for the eyes by application of medicated ghee is known as Netratananam, In
patients eyes and later in the process the eyes will be open and closed for couple of times under the doctors supervision.

Blood letting : Blood letting is the withdrawal of blood from a patient to prevent or cure ilinass and disease. Bloodletting, whether by a physician or by leeches. it is good for Acne, Herpes Zoster. it also reduce the inflammation.
Dhinyaamladhara : Dhanyamiadhara is a term which generally describes an Ayurvedic treatment procedure in which the fermented liquid obtained after fermenting ceraals and other medicinal herbs is poured over the body of the patient in monitored streams for a fixed duration of time. it Rellaves pain, stiffness and swelling associated with arthritis and other painful conditions, effective remedy for many musculoskeletal disorders.
Ksheerdhoomum : A fomentation process with medicated cow milk that helps in eliminating facial paralysis disorders and other nervous disorders of the face and speech b disorders, cervical spondylosis: and neurological problems.
In this treatment medicated milk is heated and the steam is passed over the entire body, It Is effective for numbness, headache, allangies, nervous disorder and paralysis.
